Description

A French Louis XV style cherry ‘commode en tombeau’ with three drawers and scrolled feet from the mid-19th century. This French three-drawer bombé chest features a rectangular top raised on a rounded molding and sitting above three elegantly carved drawers. Each drawer alternates concave and convex shapes and is adorned with a rococo style hardware. The central escutcheons are set within medallions, oval in the upper and lower drawer and circular in the middle section. The ensemble is raised on four scrolled feet, connected to one another through a delicately scalloped skirt in the front.
