Dutch 1900s Oak Bookcase with Glass Doors, Rocaille Motifs and Canted Side Posts
Description
A tall Dutch two-part oak bookcase with glass doors and canted corners from the early 20th century. Born in the Netherlands during the 1900s, this tall oak bibliothèque features a molded cornice, sitting atop two glass doors opening to reveal four painted inner shelves. The canted side posts are adorned with delicate Rocailles style carved motifs, while the sides are simply decorated with raised panels. The lower cabinet, of deeper dimensions than the upper one, is made of two solid wood doors, flanked by side posts adorned in the same Rocaille manner. The simple skirt is delicately adorned with foliage motifs that are discreetly breaking the linearity of the piece.
