This French walnut commode from the second half of the 19th century will surprise you by its form. The piece is made of a rectangular top with rounded edge over two doors with carved motifs. A functioning key unlocks the right door while the left one is secured with a latch. The carved sides show two recessed panels, slightly reminiscent of the verticality and shape of stained glass windows. The skirt, nicely carved on three sides, finishes up the simple décor of the piece.
