This antique French four panel paper screen on canvas from the 19^th century has been made in the Zuber style. This style is based on the extraordinary woodblock printed papers and fabrics perfected by Zuber & Cie, founded in 1797 by Jean Zuber. Our panels, originally used as a room divider, depict various scenes of village life among a veritable sea of trees, with a spectrum of hues of greens, teals and greys. Each panel image is individually enclosed by a painted frame with faux gold nail heads while sitting on a faux painted marble base. Each panel is secured on a thin wooden frame and the panels are in turn connected to each other through their canvas.
