Black Forest Swiss Hand Carved Wooden Musical Clock with Hound and Hare

A Black Forest Swiss hand-carved musical clock from the 19th century with hound and hares. This exquisite hand-carved wooden clock was born in Switzerland, traditional home of some of the best clockmakers in the world. In typical Black Forest fashion, the clock is skillfully carved with animals of the hunt and foliage. Built around the central wooden clock adorned with Roman numbers (note the number 4 written IIII as opposed to IV), the clock depicts two hares in its lower section. Climbing a hill made of tree stumps and branches, a hound dog seems to be focused on one of the hares. The clock is in working condition and plays music.  show less
