This exquisite Italian credenza from the mid 19th century features a beautiful walnut, satinwood and ebony inlaid body. The serpentine top is quarter-veneered with a delicate flower marquetry motif in its center and thin banding on the surround, and the motifs are echoed on each door. The slightly beveled edge on the surround alternates inlay of different colors, creating a nice visual rhythm. The doors, which follow the serpentine shape in the center, are adorned on the side with a veneer reminiscent of sun rays. Their demi-lune shape provides a wonderful conclusion to the silhouette. With its curvy lines, refined inlaid décor and warm patina, this Italian credenza circa 1860 would be a definite focal point in any living or dining room.
