This Dutch curio cabinet from the mid-19th century features a cornice over two pairs of doors placed above each other. The piece is visually separated into two sections: the upper section, made of glass, is the vitrine. The central door, with its paneled glass, is flanked with canted sides with arched tops. The door opens with a small brass handle to reveal three shelves. This is where your most precious objects would be placed. Nicely contrasting with this opened area, the lower section is all wood. The wooden door hides two additional shelves. The old finish shows a light red / pink hue. The base is flat on the sides, but slightly scalloped everywhere else. The nicely aged finish and simple lines would make this Dutch curio cabinet, circa 1850 a wonderful vitrine to showcase your favorite objects.
