A French rococo style gilt bronze and crystal six-light chandelier from the 19th century. This French six-light crystal chandelier features a central etched glass column with gold mercury glass accents supporting six twisted glass scrolled arms with bronze ornaments. The arms are reminiscent of the work of Murano artists, but the rocaille style gilt bronze motifs remind us of the chandelier’s French origin. Delicate bronze c-scrolls at the top support crystal pendeloques, while the graceful curves of the glass arms below alternate between prisms in the upper level and pendeloques in the lower level. Faceted beads connect these two sections, creating a symbiotic harmony. The bobèches are beautifully accented with bronze motifs.
