Sheila Benson began Foxglove Antiques as a tiny shop in the West Village of Buckhead in 2000. It has been carefully nurtured into the 15,000 square foot gallery that is shared by over a dozen curated international dealers. Foxglove Antiques & Galleries has continued to set the mark for elevated interiors with a classic, refined style. Sourcing directly from European markets for the finest antiques, Foxglove provides one of a kind pieces of furniture, lighting, original artwork, and accessories.

Sheila Benson – May 21, 1950 – August 19, 2023

Following a successful 20-year career in banking, Sheila determined that the next chapter of her work life would be one surrounded by beautiful antiques and include intriguing international travel to acquire them. On May 21, 2000, she ceremoniously cut the ribbon to officially open tiny Foxglove Cottage Antiques in the heart of Buckhead. Within a year, she was restlessly contemplating a move to Atlanta’s landmark antiques district, Miami Circle, and soon made the bold transition to what she considered “the big leagues.”

For the next 23 years, she skillfully nurtured Foxglove Antiques & Galleries to become one of the nation’s largest, most beautiful, and esteemed sources of well-curated antiques and accessories. As a very “hands-on” leader, she was at Foxglove daily and made countless new friends in the world of interior design who appreciated her excellent taste, her business acumen, as well as her authentic “never met a stranger” personality.

Sheila’s legacy lives on as Foxglove’s excellent staff maintains her high standards of client service and extraordinary mix of gorgeous antiques.
